We’ve all read about bloggers who ended up getting a book contract. Well, that is not my news! However, a book review I wrote here on the blog was edited and is in the summer issue of the Priscilla Papers, the academic journal of CBE – Christians for Biblical Equality. I am really quite excited about this!!
You can download the summer issue for FREE, here, to read on your computer or other device. My review of Men and Women in Christ: Fresh Light from the Biblical Texts is on pages 29-30 of the issue.
Or you can read just my review online HERE.
Writing book reviews can be a ministry, even though it may not seem like it. Books can help, educate, challenge, and encourage others. A timely book suggestion or recommendation can make a difference in someone’s life. Not to mention that writing a book review is encouraging to the author. A review is a way to thank and communicate with an author.
Now-a-days books need reviews in order to make it! It saddens me that sometimes worthwhile and quality books languish in obscurity because of the lack of reviews or social media mentions. And sometimes, frustratingly, superficial and low quality books get all kinds of reviews and publicity.
Speaking broadly, and changing the topic a bit, do NOT complain about the banal content of social media if…you are not liking and sharing quality and thoughtful content. If you click on and interact with stupid and foolish content, you are part of the problem.
