I am trying to get a hashtag going on twitter of #PreachLikeAGirl, where female preachers share a link to a sermon – whether they preach regularly or on occasion. In this post, I share several audio or video links from female preachers. Perhaps you have pre-conceived, not-so-positive, ideas about female preachers? I’d encourage you to take a listen. Perhaps you’ll find these sermons not what you expected? Once upon a time, I myself did not quite approve of female preachers, and had various concerns. Now I am one! Feel free to explore my blog post category to the right about roles of women and men in the church.
[By the way, I chose preach like A GIRL, rather than a woman, to make a point. “Like a girl” usually has a negative connotation, so lets give it a positive one!]
First, myself! Laura Martin. I do substitute preaching in the United Methodist Church. I’ve shared audio and transcripts of sermons on the blog before, but here is the link to one: The Name, Acts 3. I consider my preaching to be expository style.
Gail Wallace. From a Free Methodist Church. Treasures in Jars of Clay, 2 Corinthians 4:5-12. Also what I’d consider expository style. Audio link here.
Kate Wallace Nunneley. From another Free Methodist Church. What is purity? Tough topic! Video link here.
Han-luen Kantzer Komline. Psalm 42. She can preach! Video link here.
Update, adding more:
Dr. Kerilyn Harkaway-Krieger, On Giving Birth and Being Born Again. Video link here.
A sermon series on…Leviticus! By Pastor Carolyn Moore of Mosaic United Methodist Church. Audio link here.
