On that note, I need to write a book review. Look for it next week.
Pittsboro is a small town (or it was until the recent annexation of new land) but has a quaint downtown with unique, artsy shops.
Pittsboro is also home to Carolina Tiger Rescue. It is not a zoo, but a rescue that takes in exotics cats such as lions, tiger, ocelot, serval, and caracal that need a home. Maybe they were pets (a wild animal should not be a pet and rarely works out for long!) or were being mistreated in a roadside zoo situation. You need to make an appointment for a tour, and it is well worth it to learn more about these cats. The money from tours helps fund their work. Be sure to visit if you are in this area of North Carolina – but tours book up fast. Plan and book ahead.
