Since my previous post briefly mentioned Bible translations, I wanted to share this link to a well-done and formatted article on Bible translations. It is 4 pages long and by Daniel Wallace. He explains technicalities of Bible translation, such as the difference between formal equivalence (word-for-word) and functional equivalence (phrase-for-phrase). Yet he writes in a way that an every-day person can understand. The goal is to help people choose a Bible. I like how he recommends that for serious Bible study, it is best to own both types of translations (formal and functional). Don’t worry – if the technical language is confusing – it is all explained in an easy way in the article.
