Psalm 27:14; Psalm 46:10

“Waiting on the Word and being still before the Word teaches us humility about the way we speak to God. God is the author of our faith, and source of all truth and meaning. Christians do not need to offer an answer to every question, and God does not expect us to. It is so much easier to blurt out a ripe opinion than to wait for God and listen to others. We may try to orchestrate the work of the Kingdom and impose our cleverness on the Spirit, but God invites us to wait.” – Charles Marsh in the book “Wayward Christian Soldiers.”

(Title of the book should give a hint for the context of this quote. Christians are too often rushing into action, and have forgotten about seeking and waiting on God. Here is a past post where I share some thoughts on this and another similar book.)
